YUCCA MIDDLE SCHOOL TO RETURN TO REMOTE LEARNING MODE

Yucca Middle School to enter into Remote Learning Mode beginning at dismal today, May 4th
As a preventative measure to avoid an involuntary closure by the state, the District has shifted Yucca Middle School to Remote Learning Mode at the conclusion of instruction today, May 4, 2021. Beginning Wednesday, May 5, Yucca students will attend remotely for a period of two weeks, returning to in- person instruction Wednesday, May 19, 2021.
Grab & Go meals will continue to be provided at Yucca Middle School for students affected by the closure from 9:00 a.m. – noon, Monday – Friday.
Accommodations are being made for students receiving special services or participating in extracurricular programs. Families will be contacted by the school with additional information.
Voluntarily entering into Remote Learning Mode, while a difficult decision, allows the District and school leadership the most reliable way to ensure students can attend the final week of school in-person for critical end-of-year assessments. Currently, Yucca is on the state’s Rapid Response COVID-19 Watchlist, with three positive COVID-19 results reported in the last 14 calendar days.
The decision to shift Yucca to Remote Learning Mode comes less than a week after a similar decision was made regarding seniors attending Clovis High School.
