YOUR LINE UP FOR LOCAL HALLOWEEN THEMED EVENTS
Halloween is on a Monday this year and local authorities indicate it’s understood Monday night is the night for trick-or-treating. But, no need to worry, there are also a number of Halloween activities planned leading up to Monday.
Friday from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce is inviting people to join them in downtown Portales for what they are calling “safe trick-or-treating” with businesses getting together for the event. Please visit their county Facebook page for a directory of participating businesses.
The Curry County Fairgrounds are having their ‘Haunted Fairgrounds’ for the last weekend from 7-10 pm. The cost is $10 and all ages are welcome.
On Saturday at the Curry County Event Center it’s Trick or Treat Street from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with trick-or-treating, games, and food. The events center is at 1900 E. Brady Ave.
Legacy Church located at 3401 N. Norris St. is having a trunk-or-treat event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with activities, food trucks and what they are calling a “character experiences.”
Clovis High School will be the scene of “A Wildcat Halloween” from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. There will be trick-or-treating and games sponsored by school organizations.
North Plains Theatre is hosting a trunk or treat beginning at 5:30pm in their parking lot.
Back at the Curry County Events Center Saturday from 8 p.m. until midnight there will be a Halloween Party open to ages 18 and up. Tickets are $10. A live DJ will provide music, there’ll be a costume contest, a full bar and food.
On Sunday a number of area merchants will be doing the Halloween event to benefit the Hillcrest Park Zoo “Boo at the Zoo.” Admission is $1 and the event will run from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. For Halloween night there will be a trunk-or-treat event at Wheatfields Estates starting at 5:30 p.m. Wheatfields is at 4701 N. Prince St.
Also, on Halloween night there will be trick-or-treating at the Clovis fire stations starting at 5 p.m. Station locations are:

- Station 2, 220 East Brady St .
- Station 3, 2200 Cesar Chaves
- Station 4, 1308 N. Norris St .
- Station 5, 615 E. Llano Estacado.
