XCEL ENERGY OFFICIALS WARN OF IMPENDING WIND STORM
EASTERN NEW MEXICO( KSMX)- Weather officials are again warning of a storm approaching our area that could bring strong winds of 30 to 40 mph, gusting 60+ at times. As the area is already dry, fire danger rises, as well as potential damage to small buildings, and high-profile vehicles. Visibility can also be reduced, as there is expected to be areas of blowing dust. Crews with Xcel Energy are being placed on-call that includes dispatchers, contractors and field employees. In general, areas with the largest number of customer outages will take priority…and thousands of customers could be hit at once. Worker safety will also impact the timing of when power can be restored.
