WEATHER TO TAKE COLD, WINTRY TURN

EASTERN NM (KSMX) – A cold front from California is expected to impact the High Plains this evening, through Wednesday. Portions of Eastern New Mexico could see hail and strong winds this evening, with severe thunderstorms and minor flooding could accompany tomorrow. The National Weather service anticipates the area could see up to one inch. Wednesday is expected to see wind gusts of 65 mph, creating blowing dust. Wednesday night could see chances of snow. This winter system will be more impactful than the first with much colder temperatures and more widespread difficult travel conditions.
