WEATHER OFFICIALS WARN OF WINTER STORM SYSTEM

NEW MEXICO (KSMX) – The national weather service is warning people to be cautious due to an approaching winter storm system. A cold front will bring strong to damaging winds and some snow to portions of northern and central New Mexico Wednesday night into Thursday. Very windy conditions will develop Wednesday evening as the polar jet stream dips south from the Great Basin across the state. The strongest winds will be during the overnight hours over the central and southern mountains and across the eastern plains, especially near the Texas border.
