WALMART WILL NO LONGER SELL GUNS

CLOVIS (KSMX)- A new state law was put into effect yesterday. This law will enforce that anyone who buys a gun in the state is now required to go through a background check, whether they purchase the gun from a store, a neighbor, or a friend. The only exceptions are sales and transfers between family members and between law enforcement.
Walmart says it’s not equipped to handle the changes and that it will surrender its licenses in New Mexico. The last day that Walmart in Clovis will stop selling guns will be July 22 but will continue to sell ammunition.
Customers who had been visiting the camping and wildlife section yesterday had commented that this gun law “it is what it is”. Many others disagreed with the new laws saying, “it won’t stop anything” while those who agreed that this law was needed said “it’s about time something is done”.
