VEHICLE-BUS COLLISON LEADS TO SIX WITH POSSIBLE INJURIES

There has been a vehicle-bus collision Wednesday afternoon on Highway 84 between Lariat and Progress in Bailey county. Six people have been transported to the hospital, but it is still unknown as to the extent of their injuries. Please be cautious if you are heading that direction anytime soon. The road is currently blocked off.

The most serious injury appears to have been to a passenger in a red sport utility vehicle that collided with the bus. The Lubbock Avalanche Journal reported Jaynee Bibbs was taken by helicopter to University Medical Center in Lubbock with “incapacitating injuries.”

The Lubbock newspaper has also stated the bus driver, Ceferino Sierra Jr., suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The AJ also reported Latisha Bibbs from the SUV was taken to the Muleshoe hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Three other students were on the bus; they appeared to be uninjured.
