USDA RECALLS THOUSANDS OF POUNDS OF WALMART PRODUCT
SATA FE (KSMX)- The pork sausage patty and turkey sausage patty products sold at Walmart may be contaminated with salmonella.
according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service who announced Friday, over 6,500 pounds of the product has been recalled.
Walmart’s logo and brand, Great Value, are featured on the packages, which include 24.92-ounce pork sausage patties and breakfast turkey patties, as well as 35.6-ounce pork sausage patties.
The products, tied to a Tennessee establishment called George’s Prepared Foods that made the recall, had Oct. 16 and 24 and Nov. 3 and 5 “use by” dates, according to a notice.
The products affected have establishment number EST. M2206T or P-2260T printed on the package, the USDA said.
