UPDATED INFORMATION ON MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT
CLOVIS (KSMX)- The Clovis Police Department, Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to North Prince Street on May 3rd, in reference to a motor vehicle crash with injuries involving a motorcycle and sports utility vehicle. On arrival, Officers and EMS encountered the motorcycle driver, a 27-year-old male who has been identified as Javier Saavedra, he was said to have had a significant head injury and was lying in the roadway. Saavedra was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center.
Witnesses surrounded Saavedra before emergency officials arrived on the scene and tried to stop the bleeding. One eye witness said she wasn’t too sure if he was wearing a helmet but “it was like a scene in a movie, he (Saavedra) was up in the air and came crashing down on his head while his motorcycle just about cracked in half”.
No other persons were injured as a result of this crash. The Clovis Police Department Major Crash Team was activated to conduct the investigation into this crash. No other information related to the crash has been released.
