UPDATE: New Mexico surpasses 20,000 COVID-19 cases

CLOVIS (KSMX)- New Mexico health officials reported 25 additional COVID-19 cases in Roosevelt and Curry Counties Wednesday, among an additional 352 cases state wide.

Roosevelt County has reported a recovery of 44 people out of a case count of 131. Curry County has reported 121 people out of a case count of 426 fully recovering.

In a video message from the CEO of Roosevelt General Hospital, Kaye Green, stated that though we are seeing a case spike in the Southeast region of state, there is not a significant number of those being hospitalized each day. Those who are hospitalized for the most part, are not requiring an ICU level of care. She also reported that state labs are backlogged due to the increased number of tests being received and results are taking ten days or more.

New Mexico has now had a total of 20,136 COVID-19 cases:

As of today, there are 7,817 COVID-19 cases designated as having recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.
