UNEMPLOYMENT UP IN NEW MEXICO

NEW MEXICO (KSMX) – Unemployment claims for New Mexico grew in January, that’s up one-tenth to 5.1 percent. The seasonal adjusted rate includes big gains in private jobs, about 10,000 in that span. The national rate is 4.0 percent. Jobs in hospitality were also up, as was construction related assignments. Transportation and utilities were off by some 1,300 jobs.
