U.S. JUSTICE DEPT SIDES WITH NM FATHER

The U.S. Justice Department is siding with the father of a seventh grade prep school
student in a lawsuit that challenges pandemic-related limits on classroom capacity for
Private schools in the State, as more restrictive than public school guidelines; the AP
reports. The lawsuit argues that the state is violating the equal protection clause of the
U.S. constitution due to the limited attendance to private schools of 25%, while public
school guidelines say 50%.
