TWO CLOVIS SCHOOLS EXPERIENCED LOCK DOWNS IN THE SAME DAY

CLOVIS (KSMX)- A situation unfolded at a residence Wednesday afternoon, on Delta street near MLK that required Clovis Police Department to be called to the scene.

Because of reports of heightened police activity in neighborhoods nearby, the iAcademy, located at the Lincoln-Jackson Family Center was placed in a level one lock down shortly before 2 p.m. The lock down was lifted at approximately 2:25 p.m.

The school was placed in lock down due to an abundance of caution when there is a potential cause for concern in the surrounding area. During a level one lock down, students remain indoors, exterior entrances are locked and classes are held as normal.

One man was taken into custody but the situation at the residence has not been released.

Lockwood Elementary was placed on a lock down yesterday as well and later was lifted. Level and reasons are still unknown but it was reported as a precautionary step.
