TIME CHANGE TO PORTALES FIREWORK SHOW
PORTALES (KSEL)- Portales will celebrate Independence Day with a star-spangled public firework show at the City Softball Complex on Industrial Drive in Portales at 9:30 p.m. this Thursday, (July 4). Chamber Executive Director Karl Terry said this year’s start time will be moved back a half hour to 9:30 p.m. to allow for a darker sky and a better show.
Changes have been made to the format of the show, dropping the choreographed music in order to try and lengthen the show. Terry said, while the show begins at 9:30 p.m. people are welcome to bring their picnics out to the park earlier in the evening.
The Portales Police Department is leading the safety plan for the event in cooperation with other agencies.
