THE U.S. CENSUS BUREAU WILL HOLD RECRUITING EVENT IN ADVANCE OF 2020 CENSUS

CLOVIS (KSMX)- On Thursday, October 10th from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. the U.S. Census Bureau will host a recruiting event at the New Mexico Workforce Collection. The census is currently hiring workers for various temporary jobs in advance of the 2020 Census. The event will feature information on what jobs are currently available, requirements needed, and duties of each position. The application includes assessment questions about education and work experience. Individuals will also be able to apply for positions onsite.
The census is looking to recruit over 23,000 applicants in New Mexico and jobs will include census takers, recruiting assistants, office clerks, and supervisory staff. Positions are based throughout the state and local employees will earn between $13.50-$15.50 per hour. The census is the largest peacetime deployment of civil servants across the country. The census officially begins on April 1, 2020, and for the first time ever it will have an online option, which will make filling out the form safe and easy for the people of New Mexico.
