THE NEW MEXICO COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS ELECTED NEW COUNTY OFFICIALS
The New Mexico Counties (NMC) Board of Directors elected new national and local representatives at the Board meeting held Tuesday, January 19, 2021 during the 2021 NMC Virtual Legislative Conference. They assumed their responsibilities upon adjournment of the Board meeting.
Board members elected the following individuals to serve on the National Association of Counties (NACo) Board, the NACo Western Interstate Region (WIR) Board, and the NMC Executive Committee. All positions are serving the remaining 6-months plus a two-year term through June 2023:
- NACo Board representative Harding County Assessor Phillip Trujillo
- NACo WIR Board representative Union County Commissioner Justin Bennett
- Executive Committee District Four Representative Curry County Clerk Annie Hogland (District Four provides representation on behalf of De Baca, Curry, Guadalupe, Quay, Roosevelt, and Torrance Counties)
- Executive Committee District Six Representative Lea County Commissioner Rebecca Long (District Six provides representation on behalf of Chaves, Eddy, Lea, Lincoln, Otero Counties)
The New Mexico Counties is a non-profit, nonpartisan association representing New Mexico’s 33 counties since 1936. Its mission is to strengthen New Mexico counties’ ability to govern their own affairs and to improve the well-being and quality of life of their constituents.
