Suspect wanted in Thursday’s shooting
CLOVIS (KSMX0- Emergency officials have a suspect in Thursday’s shooting in Clovis and has asked the public for information on man’s whereabouts.
On Thursday, May 28, at approximately 10:30 am officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to 609 Dawn Loop for shots fired and a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers observed a male subject lying on the ground in front of the steps deceased.
The Major Crimes Unit conducted an investigation and interviewed several persons of interest and identified Steaphan Steel Shepherd, 27, as the suspect and has an outstanding warrant for Murder in the 1st degree.

Shepherd was last seen in a 2001 white Jeep Cherokee bearing New Mexico AAXC09 (chili plate). If contact is made with Shepherd, the public is advised to not engage. Contact Law Enforcement immediately.
