SMALL PLANE MAKES EMERGENCY LANDING IN TEXICO

TEXICO (KSMX) Yesterday evening, Curry County Deputies were dispatched to Texico in response to a possible plane crash. According to a news release from the Curry County Sheriff’s Office, 26 year-old pilot Keaton Reed, and passengers 63 year-old John Reed and 57 year-old Cammy Reed, all of Clovis, were returning to Clovis after a trip to Austin, Texas. Keaton Reed reported that the plane began experiencing fuel delivery problems, causing a loss of power. The plane glided to the ground around 5:00 p.m. on US 60/84 and landed without the use of landing gear in the area of State and Wheeler Streets in Texico. Cammy Reed was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center for treatment to leg and back injuries. Keaton and John Reed were examined and released by paramedics at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The National Transportation Safety Board will conduct an investigation into the cause of the crash.
