SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH ON SUNDAY LEAVE ONE TEEN DEAD AND TWO INJURED

A fatal crash on Sunday night has killed one Muleshoe teenager and left two other teens injured.

On Sunday, May 16, 2021, at approximately 11:18 PM, Curry County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a fatal crash on Curry Road 14, near the junction with New Mexico 77. The investigation has determined that a 1998 Dodge pickup, carrying 3 passengers was traveling east on Curry Road 14 and crashed into a pipe fence.

In press release sent from the Clovis Police Department, it stated that in the area of 520 Curry Road 14, the vehicle left the roadway, the driver, a Muleshoe teen died at the scene. The other two passengers were transported to Plains Regional Medical Center (PRMC). One of the teens was subsequently flown to a medical facility in Lubbock, Texas with critical injuries. The other was treated at PRMC and released.

The names of the teens involved in this unfortunate accident have been left out, due to the age of the victims. All of the parties involved are under the age of 18 years old

The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
