SENTENCING HEARING CONTINUES INTO DAY THREE

Clovis, NM (KSMX) – Day Three of the sentencing of Nathaniel Jouett begins today. Tuesday, Jouett’s mental health was the focus and if it was a factor that led to the shooting in August of 2017. That shooting killed two and left four others injured. Defense attorneys want a significantly light sentence – just 20 years in prison. Mental health professionals close to Jouett said he struggled with anxiety, depression, drug abuse and anger issues. A decision is expected this week on his sentence.
