SENATOR UDALL NOT SEEKING RE-ELECTION

SANTA FE (KSMX ) – Senator Tom Udall announced today that he will not be seeking re-election in 2020. Udall, who served as New Mexico’s Attorney General prior to serving two terms as state senator, says he is not retiring. “Now, I’m most certainly not retiring. I intend to find new ways to serve New Mexico and our country after I finish this term. There will be more chapters in my public service to do what needs to be done,” Udall said. “In fact, I see these next two years as an incredible opportunity.” The senator says during the remainder of his term, he intends to return to Washington, D.C. to focus on fighting climate change, protecting public lands and forests and expanding clean energy. After his term is complete, Udall says he intends to continue to serve New Mexico in other ways.
