Roosevelt County sees spike of 12 cases

PORTALES (KSEL)- New Mexico state health officials on Saturday announced 190 additional positive tests for COVID-19 including 12 new cases in Roosevelt County and 4 in Curry County.

In a social media update post, Kaye Green, CEO of Roosevelt General Hospital stated that when data was released to RGH officials, 2 of the 12 new cases were already known to be positive.

Green stated that the new positive cases came through the outdoor testing clinic.

“What we believe may have happened is that the original person that tested positive may have congregated in a group before knowing they had the virus. We are now in the process of reaching out to patients and instructing to self-isolate”.

Currently, there are no inpatients at RGH.
