ROOSEVELT COUNTY LAWSUIT SETTLED
A lawsuit has been settled between Roosevelt County and Edward Alonzo. The lawsuit was filed by Alonzo, asserting excessive force during his arrest. According to Roosevelt County, the County was prepared to vigorously defend the suit; however, the specific circumstances meant that the legal fees and costs of defending the suit would unusually high. As a result, the county, along with its insurer and attorneys, made the decision to minimize the costs and burden on taxpayer resources. The settlement was or a sum of $95,000.
