ROOSEVELT COUNTY CLERK CLARIFYING PROCESSES OF ABSENTEE APPLICATIONS

Officials with Roosevelt County are clarifying some of the processes and dates regarding the upcoming General Election. There have been several entities sending out absentee applications and voter registration forms. Officials say county residents may receive more than one application or form due to numerous nonprofits mailing the material. The forms distributed are valid and can be utilized by voters.
The County Clerk’s office tracks this data to ensure each person gets only one ballot regardless of the number of requests submitted. “The Roosevelt County Clerk’s Office will only sending these documents out when requested by the voter,” clarified Deputy County Clerk Nath Baca. “You only need to submit one form to the County Clerk’s Office. However, if you have sent multiple voter registration forms or absentee application forms, you will only receive one ballot.” Absentee ballots will be mailed out beginning on October 6th. Any registered voter can complete the application for absentee ballot or can call the Roosevelt County Clerk’s Office to request an absentee ballot application by mail. Voters can also complete the application online at<http://www.nmvote.org> www.nmvote.org. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 20, 2020.
