RGH LEADING THE FOREFRONT OF TECHNOLOGY IN RURAL ARES

PORTALES (KSEL) – Roosevelt General Hospital is working to be a model for how rural healthcare should be, recently taking a huge step in that direction. ABC7 reports. The step, is in the form of a high-tech diagnostic tool that will cut the time to identify a patient’s illness from days, to a matter of minutes. The machine, the “BioFire” is pushing RGH to the forefront of care in rural areas. RGH CEO  Kaye Green, says the hospital is the only one in the region with this kind of technology, something they are really proud of. The machine works to take unprocessed DNA samples, and identifies the most common types of bacteria and viruses. This new technology means no more treatment with broad scale antibiotics or no antibiotics.
