Retirement Ranch continues retesting of residents and staff

CLOVIS (KSMX)- On Saturday, May 16, a social media post from the Retirement Ranch Facebook page announced that two employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Both staff members were reported to be asymptomatic and are on leave until the CDC and New Mexico Department of Health deem it safe for them to return.

Retirement Ranch officials have stated that as of today, May 20, there has been a total of 234 individuals tested including all residents and 95% of all staff, with a few part-time staff that will come in as soon as possible.

There was one asymptomatic resident who tested positive for the virus on Saturday.

Officials have received some results from Sunday’s tests and are awaiting the rest of the results. All the results received from Sunday’s testing so far are negative.

The count remains at 2 positive staff and 1 positive resident.

Residents were retested and will continue to test 25 percent of residents and staff until they are told otherwise by the Department of Health.
