CLOVIS (KSMX)- On Saturday, May 16, a social media post from the Retirement Ranch Facebook page announced that two employees tested positive for COVID-19.
Both staff members were reported to be asymptomatic and are on leave until the CDC and New Mexico Department of Health deem it safe for them to return.
County Manager Lance Pyle was notified by the Governor’s Office that afternoon of the positive tests and on Sunday the Department of Health tested 181 of 244 staff and residents. The National Guard delivered those tests to Tricore to be processed and the Department will continue to test Monday and Tuesday.
Retirement Ranch officials have stated that as of Monday, May 18, there has been a total of 234 individuals tested including all residents and 95% of all staff, with a few part-time staff that will come in as soon as possible.
All staff and residents will be retested next week, even if they have already had a test.
