RESIDENTIAL FIRE ON US 60/84 CAUSES ONE FATALITY

In a press release from the Curry County Sherriff’s Office, on Wednesday, May 19, shortly after 4:00 PM, Deputies and the Clovis Fire Department responded to a mobile home that was fully engulfed and heavily damaged by an ongoing fire. The home resided at 1517 US 60/84, Unit 13. 

During the fire suppression efforts, a deceased male was found within the residence. The victim has been identified as Larry Dean Breeden, age 59, who resided at this location. 

The New Mexico State Fire Marshal’s Office responded and is assisting with the investigation. It has been determined that Breeden died of carbon monoxide poisoning and smoke inhalation. 

The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.
