RENEE RUSS IS NAMED THE NEW SUPERINTENDENT OF CMS

CLOVIS (KSMX)- The votes are in and Renee Russ will be the new superintendent of the Clovis Municipal School District. After the board reconvened from an executive meeting tonight, Board of Education President Cindy Osburn, announced that Russ will be taking on a two-year contract as well as a $153,000 salary as superintendent. The advisory board that was involved in the application and interview process consisted of 30 local residents, including community members, administration and teacher personnel. Osborn commented, that “after the feedback from the advisory board and Russ herself, it was the natural choice”.

Russ is the current Deputy Director of Federal Programs for the Clovis Municipal Schools and a former principal at the now closed Ranchvale Elementary School.  She was one of three finalists interviewed by school board members and the aforementioned 30-person panel, after a substantial vetting process.

Current superintendent, Jody Balch, will officially retire on June 7th.
