RACINO LICENSE AGAIN ON COMMISSIONS AGENDA
ALBUQUERQUE (KSMX ) – The New Mexico Racing commission will once again tackle licensing when meet Thursday. According to the agenda, during the executive session, the commission will discuss the state’s sixth and final racing license. Clovis is one of the communities in consideration for the racino, with three current proposals. Tucumcari and Lordsburg also a vying for a license. The decision to award the license has been on hold since a lawsuit was filed by those associated with the Lordsburg group back in December. The lawsuit pertains to the recent feasibility study done on each location. District court will consider the request in April. The commission will unlikely award the license however, as they’ve been guided by the Attorney Generals office to not award the license, until the litigation has been resolved.
