RACING COMMISSION CHAIRMAN IS TOLD TO STEP DOWN. RACINO PROCESS WILL START ALL OVER AGAIN.

CLOVIS (KSMX) – The New Mexico Racing Commission special meeting has been cancelled. The meeting had been planned for Tuesday and was hopefully the moment of awarding one of five applicants of the sixth and final license for the racino.

The Quay County Sun reports, the commission chairman, Ray Willis, said he and he assumes the rest of the commissioners were fired by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham over email. The decision was apparently unexpected and will now take this concern back to the beginning of the process.

The committee of Vision 20/20 Racino for Clovis was asked to comment but will reach out when they have more information on the event.
