PUBLIC ASSISTANCE NEEDED TO IDENTIFY SUBJECT INVOLVED IN CRIMINAL DAMAGE OF ZIA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Between 2:30 and 3:20 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2021, security cameras captured an unidentified male engaging in criminal damage to Zia Elementary, 2400 Norris Street, Clovis, NM.

Footage from the incident shows an unidentified teen or adult male approach the school on foot from the north, walking south on Norris Street. Multiple cameras captured footage of the individual throwing what appears to be a rock at the front doors of the school and attempting to remove the glass after it shattered. Additionally, footage showed the individual in an area where the roof was accessed and significant damage was caused to a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) unit. Just before 3:20 a.m., the individual was captured on camera walking east in the direction of a nearby residential area.

Initial estimates indicate thousands of dollars in damages occurred during the incident. The individual was wearing denim pants, a long sleeve white shirt, a white baseball cap with a dark front, and carrying a black jacket.
