PRE-CANVASS RESULTS IN FOR SPECIAL ELECTION IN PORTALES
PORTALES (KSEL) – Yesterday was the deadline for the special mail in ballot election in Portales. According to city officials, the pre-canvass results show that 594 are FOR and 297 are AGAINST. The special election was to determine as the whether the ordinance to amend and revise the City’s Economic Development Goals should become effective. The ordinance changes the existing City Code expanding the purpose for economic development funds, but does not increase the existing sales tax.
