CLOVIS (KSMX) —
Update as of 10/10 11:09am: Power has been restored at all district Clovis Municipal Schools and the school day will resume as normal. 11 district campuses were affected by the power outage ranging from full power loss to loss of phones and internet for approximately an hour.
According to an Xcel Energy Spokesman, about 3,400 Xcel Energy customers are without power in west Clovis this morning. The power went out around 9:15 a.m. due to a fault that was detected by protective devices.
Of those impacted, eight public schools including Clovis High School were affected. Officials from Clovis Municipal Schools said that students remain in class for now until they can determine how much longer the power will remain out.
As of now, there is no timeline for when power could be restored.
