PORTALES CITY OFFICIALS REMIND RESIDENTS TO RETURN MAIL IN BALLOTS
PORTALES (KSEL) – The City of Portales would like to remind residents that received the special mail in ballot, to return completed ballots by tomorrow, at 7:00 p.m. The ordinance changes the existing City Code expanding the purpose for economic development funds, but does not increase the existing sales tax. For the ordinance to become effective, State law requires that the ordinance be voted on by the eligible voters of the municipality. The question is FOR or AGAINST making the ordinance effective. Questions concerning the mail in ballot, can be directed to the City Clerk.
