ONE OF THREE JAIL INMATES WHO ESCAPED LAST YEAR SENTENCED

CLOVIS (KSMX) – A Clovis man will spend nearly two decades in prison for an escape from the jail back in June. Victor Apodaca broke down in tears Monday and begged the judge for mercy, saying he had changed his life. With good time credit, time served, and a suspended sentence, Apodaca will spend a total of about 16 years in state prison. However, Apodaca ordered the sentence to run consecutive to a 60-year prison term that he must serve in Texas from a 2017 aggravated assault of a police officer.
