NEW MEXICO RANKS NO. 19 FOR THE MOST FENTANYL DEATHS
CLOVIS (KSMX)- A new study shows New Mexico ranks No. 19 for the most deaths from Fentanyl in America.
HealthTestingCenters.com released a study which analyzed data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) through 2018, found that Fentanyl and its derivatives contributed to nearly half of all drug overdose deaths in 2018.
In New Mexico, Fentanyl deaths increased by 814% from 2013-2017 resulting in 8.83 deaths per 100,000 residents.
Nationally, there was a modest 3% decline in all drug overdose deaths in 2018.
