NEW MEXICO RANKS 50TH IN CHILD WELFARE

CLOVIS (KSMX)- According to the 2019 Kids Count Data Book, New Mexico is ranked 50th for the third time since 2013 in child welfare. The ranking is based on 16 indicators for child well-being which include child poverty, teen deaths and teen birth rates. The state’s child poverty rate dropped from 30% to 27% reporting an improvement for New Mexico.

New Mexico ranks: 49th in economic well-being, 50th in education, 48th in health and 50th in family and community.
