CLOVIS (KSMX)- Michelle “Shelly” Norris has accepted the position of Executive Director of Educator Quality with Clovis Municipal Schools. Mrs. Norris will be able to provide ongoing teacher and novice principal support, coordinate and support district peer-coaching, support District communication and marketing efforts, and service in areas of NM TEACH, growth plans, Teacher Leaders, Principal Mentorship, Teacher Recognition, and District substitutes and volunteers. This is a new position created by the District and will begin on July 8.
Dr. Norris began her career with Clovis Municipal Schools in 1995 as a teacher at Ranchvale Elementary School. From 1998 to 2001, she taught at Cameo Elementary prior to becoming the Principal at Lincoln-Jackson Elementary School in 2001. In 2006, Dr. Norris took the leadership role as the Principal of the Arts Academy at Bella Vista.
Dr. Norris received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 1995 and Master’s in Education Administration in 2014 from Eastern New Mexico University, and in 2013 she received her Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
