NEW COVID-19 REPORTING SYSTEM FOR CMS

Clovis Municipal Schools has begun a new Covid-19 reporting system. They will now report positive COVID-19 test results online via a consolidated case list. The data is accessible to the public on the District’s website and will list all future and previously reported cases. The new COVID-19 Positive Reports page can be found at: www.clovis-schools.org/COVID19/COVID-19-Cases.html

The District will continue to notify staff or the family of a student who has been identified as a close contact of an individual that tested positive for COVID-19, as defined by current public health guidelines.

However, with online, consolidated COVID-19 case data being made available to the public, the District will no longer send media alerts, email announcements, nor post notifications to social media regarding individual, or daily case reports.

Positive case data will be posted to the website following notification of close contacts, and no later than 4 p.m. each business day. Data received after 4 p.m. or cases for which close contact notifications are still pending, will be posted the following business day, but will reflect the date the results were obtained. The data reported reflects a combination of staff and students who have tested positive for COVID-19. In keeping with public health orders, which went into effect the last week of September, the District began surveillance testing five percent of staff on a weekly basis. Also, to support contact tracing efforts, cases are recorded by the District when staff or students seek testing independently and provide positive results to the schools. The data provided is also reported to the State of New Mexico, and reflected in local case numbers. It is the District’s policy to protect the medical privacy of staff and students in accordance with law. The District will only release the date, location, and number of cases, as well as any change to services or facility access that result.
