NEW COVID-19 CASE AT BERRY ELEMENTARY
Barry Elementary will return to Remote Learning Mode for Thursday, November 12, because a staff member or student at Barry has tested positive for COVID-19.
The individual was last on campus on October 30, and all students and staff in Cohort B were potentially exposed.
Due to the delayed receipt of the positive test results, which were received Tuesday evening, the quarantine period will end Thursday, November 12.
Unless circumstances change, school will resume in Hybrid Learning Mode on Friday, November 13.
Families should watch for communication from their school and individual teachers, and be aware that due to quarantine requirements the campus will be closed to in-person activity Thursday.
Students are expected to log into their classes online Thursday, and attendance will be taken.
Grab & Go meal distribution at Barry will be halted through Monday, due to an additional positive COVID-19 case received today, November 11. The nearest alternate distribution site is Gattis Middle School. Community children can also receive meals from any District school, regardless of attendance status.
Unless circumstances change, meal distribution will resume Tuesday, November 17. Meals will be delivered to the campus, for in-person students only, for the duration of the Grab & Go closure.
Areas of the school (including buses, if applicable) in which the COVID-19 positive individual spent time will be cleaned and disinfected.
All students and staff who were at the school on October 30 are identified as close-contacts and are required by public health orders to self-quarantine through Thursday, November 12.
