Friday evening, around 5:00 pm, the ENMU alert system sent out a warning that there was a shooting incident at an off campus resident hall. San Juan village, just catty corner to the main campus resident halls, reported the shooting and that the shooter was still on the loose. Campus residents were to take precautions and stay on alert for further information.

About 20 minutes after the initial alert, the campus notification system sent out another message stating as follows, “No ENMU students have been reported as injured as a result of the incident at San Juan Village.” There is not an active threat at the ENMU Portales campus or its residence halls.”
