Millions Will Be Hitting The Roads For Holiday Travels
SANTA FE (KSMX)- AAA New Mexico projects more than 4.1 million people in the Mountain Region will journey 50 miles or more away from home this Thanksgiving.
The Mountain Region includes New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.
Across America, AAA projects 55.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more away from home this Thanksgiving giving this year a 2.9 percent increase over last year.
That means nationally, 1.6 million more people taking to the nation’s roads, skies, rails and waterways compared to last year.
This will be the second-highest Thanksgiving travel volume since AAA began tracking in 2000, trailing only the record set in 2005.
