MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO FIGHT OPIOID CRISIS IN NEW MEXICO

NEW MEXICO (KSMX) – Today, New Mexico’s congressional delegation announced that nearly $3 million in Health and Human Services funding would be used to fight the opioid crisis in the state. The funding comes from grants released to states through the State Opioid Response Grant. New Mexico’s drug overdose rate is 13% higher than the national average, with 2 out of 3 overdose deaths in 2017 involved an opioid; according to the New Mexico Department of Health.
