MEETINGS UPDATE FOR TUESDAY 03/19/19
EASTERN NM (KSMX) – A few meetings taking place tomorrow. First the, Curry County Commissioners will meet. The county is expected to apply for a $50 thousand-dollar environment grant from the state. They’ll use it for tire amnesty collection days. They’ll also discuss new fire equipment for battling wildfires. According to the agenda, they’ll transfer about $74 thousand dollars to make the purchase. We’ll also learn more about the fate of a 2-mile portion of Curry Road 6. The Commission is set to meet tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. in the Commission Chambers. In Roosevelt County, commissioners are also schedule to meet. They’ll tackle the sheriff’s budget and a pair of investments of 50 thousand and 20 thousand dollars. They are also expected to approval putting a pickup truck up for auction. An executive session will be held following the meeting where limited personnel matters pertaining to pending or threatened litigation will be discussed. The meeting of the Roosevelt County Commission will take place tomorrow morning, 9:00 a.m. in the County Commission Room. Finally, Tuesday night, Clovis school leaders will discuss shifting 260-day calendar to a 238 day one. Outgoing Superintendent Jody Balch will lead the discussion. He says changing the calendar wouldn’t impact salaries or budgets.
