MAN FOUND GUILTY OF METHAMPHETAMINE POSSESSION

CLOVIS (KSMX)- Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Andrea Reeb, announced that a Curry County jury found Daniel Tapia of Clovis, guilty of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine, which is a fourth-degree felony.
During a traffic stop in August of 2018, Tapia was found with methamphetamine and was wanted on outstanding warrants. The Honorable Matthew Chandler presided over the one-day trial. The jury heard testimony from law enforcement as well as an expert in forensic drug analysis from the New Mexico State Crime Lab. Chandler sentenced Tapia to the New Mexico Department of Corrections to one year on this case and four years for prior convictions for drug possession.)
