LOCAL LEADERS URGE RESIDENTS TO COMPLETE CENSUS

As the end 2020 General Census draws closer, local officials are urging residents to participate. In a social media video, Clovis City Mayor Mike Morris said, “The Census helps determine how much federal funding our community gets for things like roads, schools, senior centers and health care. So, as you can imagine it’s crucial that we get everyone counted. With the deadline for the 2020 census drawing near. I wanted to ask all of you to please do your part to ensure our community gets the funding that it will need over the next decade.”

New Mexico is 50th in the nation in reporting on the census, with just half of Curry and Roosevelt counties self-reporting. A Census form can be filled out at www.my2020census.gov. The 2020 Census closes September 30th.
