LOCAL ELEMENTARY DUBBED COMMERCIAL YARD OF THE MONTH
From July to September, the City of Clovis recognizes residents and businesses in the community as part of the “Yard of the Month” program. The “Commercial Yard of the Month” for July 2020 was awarded Friday to Highland Elementary School. The purpose of the program is to raise pride of ownership in City properties, which improves the appearance of the community and acts as an economic tool for people and businesses looking to relocate to the area. Sponsors of the program include New Mexico Clean and Beautiful and the City of Clovis. Each month the program runs, the Mayor and City Commission recognize two residents and one business from each of the commission districts. Clovis Municipal Schools thanks the staff at Highland Elementary for their exceptional job maintaining the lawns and outside areas.
