NEW MEXICO (KSMX) – U.S. Senators Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich, along with U.S. Representatives, announced five grants from the U.S. Department of Commerce totaling $1,050.000. This is to develop strategies that will diversify and strengthen regional economies across New Mexico. The funding, which is comprised of five $210,000 grants, is part of the Economic Development Administration’s annual commitment to 22 counties in the state. Here locally, the Eastern Plains Council of Governments, which takes in Curry, De Baca, Guadalupe, Harding, Quay, Roosevelt and Union Counties, was one of the five organizations to receive the grant.
