NEW MEXICO (KCBD) As forecasted, snow began falling in Eastern New Mexico around 8:00 p.m. yesterday evening. Although forecasters predicted around 3-5” of snow fall in our local area, precipitation overnight shows just under half an inch; however, snow is still in the forecast until 11 a.m. this morning. KCBD reports that a result, a number of schools have delayed or cancelled school today. Clovis Schools and Clovis Christian were already off today in observance of Veteran’s Day. Fort Sumner, Farwell, Bovina, Friona, and House Schools all begin at 10 a.m. with Farwell and Friona busses running on paved roads only. Hereford, San Jon, and Grady Schools cancelled. Additionally, in observance of Veterans Day, City governments in both Clovis and Portales, in addition to both Curry and Roosevelt counties will be closed, in addition to post offices and most banking institutions.
